The Bachelor of Music degree program in Music for New Media: Film and Game Scoring combines the rigorous musical and academic undergraduate curriculum of the Peabody Conservatory with specialized courses in media composition and music technology.
The degree requires four years to complete. Students may apply for the five-year Bachelor of Music in Recording Arts/Master of Arts program with an adjusted program of study.
If you wish to continue your performance studies, qualified undergraduate students may audition to double-major (check the audition requirements for your instrument), or elect to take minor lessons. And as with other Peabody majors, it is possible to combine the Bachelor of Music with a bachelor’s degree from the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences or the Whiting School of Engineering by way of our double-degree program.
The Master of Music degree program in Music for New Media: Film and Game Scoring prepares students for advanced work in the field, with a curriculum encompassing the art and craft of scoring and composition, music technology, applied skills, and professional development. It normally requires a minimum of two years to complete. Students must have a bachelor’s degree in music.
