For graduating Peabody students

The Univeritywide commencement ceremony is only allowing undergraduate seniors to attend in person. All other graduates may watch the virtual stream. We recommend you familiarize yourself with all of the details on the JHU Commencement FAQ, but you must do the following as an undergraduate senior:

  • RSVP via MarchingOrder
    • NOTE: You may wonder if you have to do this as you already completed something similar in the platform that Peabody uses, NameCoach. If you are participating in both ceremonies, you will have to provide an audio recording of your name on both platforms(NameCoach & MarchingOrder) to ensure your name is announced correctly.
  • Acquire regalia

Peabody students are not required to acquire regalia (cap & gown) for the 2021 Peabody Virtual Commencement, however:

  • Regalia can be purchased by Peabody Graduate Seniors for commemorative purposes (i.e.: to use in your own photo shoots).
  • Peabody Undergraduate Seniors who elect to participate in the Universitywide ceremony ARE REQUIRED to wear regalia to the ceremony.
    • Free regalia is available to Peabody Undergraduate Seniors, gifted by Senior Class Leaders!

Here’s how Undergraduate Seniors may acquire free regalia:

In Person: Regalia distribution will be at the Johns Hopkins Bookstore (3330 St. Paul Street) from April 19 – 21. If you’d like to come in during that time, please reserve a time at If you’re unable to pick up during those dates, stop by the bookstore anytime between April 22 – May 24.

Ship to You: Go online to and order your cap and gown. Please note, shipping rates will apply. The last day to order online is May 11.

  • This will take place on May 27 at 7:30pm at Homewood Field.
  • This is for undergraduate seniors only.
  • Graduates can invite 2 guests. To retrieve your tickets, log into MarchingOrder and click “Manage My Tickets” to access your tickets.
  • All other guests are invited to join via livestream.
  • Graduating undergraduate seniors will be recognized from their seat, there will be no stage crossing during this ceremony.

Your diploma is a legal document, therefore, the printed name must match what is listed in your student record.

However, if you have a chosen name you would prefer to use in the program, to be read aloud, or on a virtual commencement slide, please be sure the Registrar’s office has that information.
