Ronderrick Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance and Choreography from New World School of the Arts/University of Florida and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance from Florida State University. He began his training at Bethel A.M.E. Church, under the mentorship of Beverly Barber, PhD. former Associate Professor of Dance Studies in the Department of Physical Education at Florida A&M University. He has preformed in the companies of The Tallahassee Ballet, Brazz Dance Theater, Bethel Liturgical Dance Company, Full Circle Dance Company, and The Campbell Dance Experience. Mitchell has had the privilege of working with world-renowned choreographers performing classical and contemporary repertoire. Most notably the works of Ronald K. Brown (Evadance/ A dance Company), Jawole Willa Jo Zollar (Urban Bush Women), Augusto Soledade (Brazz Dance Theater), Peter London (Former Principle Dancer with Martha Graham Dance Company), and choreographer Darrell Jones. He is also the recipient of The National Society of Arts and Letters award for the category “The Art Of Choreography”. He has also taught master classes nation wide on various styles most notably, on the history of Vogue Dance. While serving as Artistic Director for Coppin State University’s young dancer’s program BRAVO! He created works and developed local touring opportunities specifically designed for young dancers in training. He has done extensive work in community engagement organizations local and nationwide with a focus on mentoring and training young artist who wish to pursue a career in the arts. Mitchell has had his choreography featured in Florida State University, Touhill Center for Performing Arts, Baltimore Theater Project and The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts as a guest artist with Masala Soul Project. Currently Ronderrick Mitchell teaches dance in Baltimore City Public Schools and is the Founder/Director of RODANCO, A Community Arts Program that utilizes dance as a vehicle for student mentorship and leadership
