Rachel Kershner earned a bachelor’s degree in music education with a voice concentration from Towson University and a master’s degree in Kodály music education from Loyola University Maryland. She is additionally certified in the music education approaches of Kodály and Orff through the teacher training programs at the American Kodály Institute and the San Francisco International Orff Course. Kershner taught elementary music to students in grades K-5 for ten years in Howard County, MD, where she co-directed the Howard County Children’s Chorus for seven years as well. She also taught musicianship classes to students in grades K-12 for the American Kodály Children’s Chorus and Children’s Chorus of Maryland. 

Kershner currently teaches music to students in grades 1-8 at the Key School in Annapolis, MD. She formerly sang with the Peabody Children’s Chorus as a student, and is thrilled to work with the ensemble that helped to foster her own love of music.
