Mary Shea Kealey Kustas is an aspiring and enthusiastic music educator, conductor, and musician. She graduated from the University of Maryland in 2020 with bachelor’s degrees in both Choral/General Music Education and Voice Performance. While at UMD, she founded Voices for Change, a local treble choir for middle school students; directed Femmes de Chanson, a classical treble a cappella ensemble; conducted the OperaTerps 2020 season; and served as Choral Representative for UMD’s chapter of NAfME.
This is her second year working with the Training Choir and Choristers and her first year with Cantate. She has also taught choral and general music in Montgomery County.
Kealey Kustas first discovered her love for singing when she joined the Peabody Children’s Chorus as an eight-year-old. The experience inspired her to pursue teaching music as a career. She is thrilled to come back to the Peabody Children’s Chorus as an Assistant Director.
