James Keretses holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from Peabody Conservatory. In 2020 he earned his his D.M.A. degree in Guitar Performance at Peabody. His primary teachers during his years of study were Christopher Berg and Julian Gray. Additionally, he has been trained in the Suzuki Method by William Kossler and is a certified Suzuki teacher.
He regularly performs throughout the east coast as both a soloist and as a member of the Baltimore Guitar Duo, a Peabody Honors Ensemble for the 2016-2017 academic year. Recent engagements include Peabody’s Summer Guitar Intensive, The Loyola Concert Series, The Union Square Chamber Music Society, the University of South Carolina School of Music, The War Memorial Chapel at Bob Jones University, and The Hands On Concert Series. He has also performed in master classes for world renowned guitarists such as Berta Rojas, Łukasz Kuropaczewski, Benjamin Verdery, Manuel Barrueco, Lorenzo Micheli, and Matteo Mela.
