Violinist Grace Kim received her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance under the tutelage of Herbert Greenberg at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. She then completed her Master of Music degree in string pedagogy and violin performance under the tutelage of Darcy Drexler at the UW-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts.
At Peabody, Kim received the J. C. Van Hulsteyn Award in Strings. She was an intern and has worked closely with Rebecca Henry at Peabody Preparatory. She is also an alumna of Peabody’s Pre-Conservatory Violin Program. At UW-Milwaukee, Kim taught at String Academy of Wisconsin and the “Urban Students in Arts Outreach” Program.
Kim is a full-time faculty member at the Preparatory. As an avid violin teacher, Kim teaches private lessons and group classes. Her goal is to establish a substantial foundation within a positive environment where the students can strive, feel safe, and be open to learn. Students of all ages are encouraged to develop and communicate through musical expression.
