Ebonie Pierce is a graduate of University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a Bachelor of Arts in Flute Performance. There she was a Wind Ensemble Librarian and a flutist in the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, and Chamber Ensemble. She has been playing the flute since 2006 where she started at Hazelwood Elementary School in Baltimore City.
While a student there, she was one of three students awarded the first scholarships to the Peabody Preparatory of Johns Hopkins University to participate in a pilot program called Tuned- In, during the summer of 2007. She was also featured in the Fall 2008 edition of the Peabody Magazine highlighting her accomplishments in the program. She studied under the distinguished tutelage of Dr. Rachel Choe of the Preparatory who has molded and skillfully guided Ebonie over the years, to become the gifted flutist she is today. Ebonie is the Adjunct Flute Faculty for the Peabody Preparatory and a substitute Flute Teaching Artist for the OrchKids program. She has the privilege to teach private flute lessons, music theory, and conduct the Downtown Concert Band. She also served as the Interim Business and Memberships Manager at El Sistema USA where she expanded her career into arts administration and management. Ebonie is kind-spirited and bright and she enjoys opportunities to share in music making.
