The Directed Studies minor allows Peabody students to earn the Bachelor of Music degree with a minor comprised of courses taken at other divisions of Johns Hopkins University. If you are a flutist with a particular interest in Africana Studies, or a composer keen on mathematics, the Directed Studies minor provides an opportunity to hone your artistic talents and study another topic in depth. Students who choose a Directed Studies minor will create and submit a plan of study emphasizing a specific field, with the majority of coursework taken at a different division of the University.
Less intense than a double degree, but more focused than the Liberal Arts minor, the Directed Studies minor provides a new avenue for Peabody students to make the most of the Conservatory’s affiliation with Johns Hopkins and take full advantage of the vast academic resources of the University.
