Beginning this year, the Guitar Department is initiating a comprehensive curriculum program for young children. The Guitar for Young Children (GYC) program—for young children ages 5-8—will provide the student with a solid musical foundation inspiring the young musician to realize his/her full musical potential. At the completion of the GYC program, the student will be placed with a private instructor for individual instruction continuing his/her musical growth through the exploration of more advanced repertoire and musical concepts.

The program also offers introductory classes for beginner guitar students, age 5 to adults. Guitar for Kids, Teens and Adults consist of weekly one hour classes covering the fundamentals of guitar instruction. In addition, the student is encouraged to attend eight bi-weekly enrichment classes per semester at no additional cost. Enrichment classes cover more advanced concepts pertaining to mastering the instrument, theory and performance skills. At the completion of each class, students will be placed with a private instructor for individual instruction and continue attending the enrichment classes at no additional cost as part of their musical development and growth.
