Specialty Summer Programs


Peabody Dance offers a variety of weekly group classes throughout the summer session as well as the Summer Dance Intensive and Beyond Technique.

Summer Dance Intensive

Four week-long sessions from Monday, June 28 to Friday, July 23, 2021
For ages 7-18
A challenging, full-day dance program for students of all levels – from promising beginners to highly-motivated professional aspirants.

Beyond Technique Dance Intensive

Sunday, July 25 to Saturday, July 31, 2021
For students ages 14-20
In partnership with Peabody Conservatory’s new BFA Dance program, this one-week intensive is designed to enhance your current training in ballet and modern dance while exploring the choreographic process and sharpening your performance skills.


Summer Guitar Intensive

Monday, August 2 to Friday, August 6, 2021
For students ages 8 to adult
A five-day program that provides classical guitarists of all experience levels the opportunity to study with a world-class faculty from the Peabody Institute. The curriculum is designed to support serious young classical guitar students as well as the adult amateur ages 19 and above.


Piano at Peabody

Monday, July 12 to Friday, July 16, 2021
For adult piano students of all skill levels
A week-long celebration of "all things piano" for those pursuing piano as an adult! Guided by faculty artists of both classical and jazz backgrounds, participants learn from lectures, workshops, master classes and nightly faculty recitals. Social times allow for catching up with or building friendships, as well as for musical exchanges. Individual lessons are available with all instructors (separate fee) in half-hour increments and participant recitals (performance optional) are an annual highlight. Newcomers heartily welcomed as well as faithful returnees!

Peabody Piano Week

Monday, July 26 to Friday, July 30, 2021
For students from junior high through college age.
An intensive week-long festival for piano students. Participating students will study with a member of the faculty, attend master classes, a “Musicianship for Pianists” course, and have daily practice time.


Allegro Strings

Monday, August 2 to Friday, August 6, 2021 (Online)
1 week, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Provides a week of intensive music and enrichment classes. Group classes provide the opportunity to refine ensemble skills, perform for others, review and polish known songs, and learn new songs outside of the Suzuki repertoire.

Chamber Week

Monday, August 2 to Friday, August 6, 2021 (Downtown Campus)
9:00 am – 5:00 pm
A one-week intensive chamber music program for string players in grades 5-12 at the Intermediate to Advanced levels.


Summer Vocal Academy

Tuesday, July 6 to Sunday, July 11, 2021
For high school and college students
This 6-day intensive program is designed for advanced high school and undergraduate singers. Students will hone their skills in song repertoire, languages, movement and acting, as well as attend private lessons and coachings with Preparatory and Conservatory faculty. The program will culminate in a concert on the last day

Summer Vocal Academy Jr.

Monday, June 28 to Friday, July 2, 2021
For grades 6- 9
This one-week, online, intensive program is designed for singers 6th– 9th grades (11-15 years old) to hone their skills as a soloist in a fun and friendly environment. Singers will explore classical/traditional song repertoire, vocal technique, movement, diction, and acting and interpretation throughout the week, and the program will culminate in a presentation of art songs and poems on the last day of the academy.

Wind, Brass, String & Percussion

Peabody Innovation & Music Academy

Monday, June 21 to Saturday, June 26, 2021
For wind, brass, string, and percussion students, ages 6 - 18
A one-week musical experience that will take students on an exciting new venture into exploring both band/orchestra and the computer as an instrument. Participants will learn audio and production skills, compose new music, improvisational skills, and improve technical skills on their instruments.
