Campus buildings are open seven days a week from 6:00 AM to 2:00 AM during the academic year, with the exception of those areas designated as practice rooms, which are open 24 hours a day. Entrances to the campus are secured at all times and are equipped with an intercom system connecting directly to the campus police office. Members of the Peabody community can enter campus with their Campus identification card. The use of each card is monitored by Campus Security.
Individual guests and/or visitors without an ID Card are granted access to the campus through the 17 E. Mount Vernon Place after presenting satisfactory identification. Concert patrons may enter campus without presenting identification.
New students, staff, and faculty can obtain a ID Card, by appearing at the Campus Security office to have the card processed. There is no cost for new members of the Peabody community to obtain their initial card.
Lost cards may be replaced at a charge of $25.00. The business office will provide a receipt to you for the fee and the receipt needs to be presented to the Campus Security dispatcher. A new card will be issued at that time.
Cards that are stolen or destroyed through normal wear will be replaced at no fee. In the case of worn cards, the old card needs to be presented to Campus Security before a new card can be issued. In the case of a stolen card, a report needs to be filed. If a report is made with an outside police agency, a copy of their report needs to be presented.
