Requesting a Tutor
The Office of Academic Affairs offers peer tutoring in select subjects. Students who are experiencing difficulty should first consult with the teacher or graduate assistant of the course. If more assistance is required, students can request tutoring in one of the following:
Undergraduate: Music Theory, Music History, Humanities/writing.
Graduate: Music Theory, Ear Training, Writing.
Profile of a Tutoring Session
- Undergraduate and Graduate students may request an appointment by submitting a request form or contacting the Academic Program Coordinator.
- The Academic Program Coordinator will fulfill the request by connecting students with an appropriate tutor.
- Student are responsible for reaching out to the tutor to schedule meeting times and decide on a meeting location (library, dining hall, etc.).
- Students should strive to give at least two hours advance notice of cancellation to the tutor. Tutors will wait 10 minutes before declaring a scheduled appointment a no-show.
- No student shall be permitted to schedule more than three appointments per week, and no more than once per day.
- NOTE: DMA students are not eligible for Peabody tutoring services.
