The program leading to the degree of Master of Music provides for intensive development of performance skills, extensive knowledge of the literature in the major field of study, and achievement of a broadened knowledge of the art.
The two-year Master of Music degrees in Music for New Media: Film and Game Scoring is designed to prepare you for a future at the intersection of music and storytelling, whether in film scoring and movie music, composing soundtracks for video games, writing music for TV, or composing for virtual and augmented reality experiences.
The Choral Conducting Program at Peabody Conservatory, under the direction of Dr. Beth Willer, offers forward-thinking instruction and hands-on training in conducting technique and leadership of varied vocal and vocal-instrumental ensembles.
The program leading to the degree of Master of Music provides for intensive development of performance skills, extensive knowledge of the literature in the major field of study, and achievement of a broadened knowledge of the art. Beginning with fall 2023 enrollment, Peabody’s new Graduate Jazz fellowships will cover full tuition plus a stipend for up to three students per year in the Jazz MM or GPD programs.
The Master of Arts program in Audio Sciences was developed in conjunction with members of the professional audio community to provide students with the technical knowledge and musical skills necessary to work at an advanced level in the field of audio and/ or acoustics.
The low-residency master’s degree program offers the artistic excellence and academic rigor of a Peabody education in a more focused and flexible format. This program combines a full academic year of distance learning with two compressed in-person summer sessions for students who want to pursue master’s-level training in composition. The program allows you to complete your Master of Music in just 13 months of study.

The Graduate Performance Diploma program is designed to meet the needs of highly accomplished graduate-level performers who wish to pursue a more performance-intensive goal than represented by the MM or DMA. Students may pursue majors in all areas of performance, including performance on early music instruments.
The program leading to the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts provides students with the highest level of professional training in the art of musical performance or the craft of musical composition. To this end, applied study in the major field is supported by extensive academic work with musicology and music theory.
The Artist Diploma is a non-degree program reserved for exceptional and experienced performers, with emphasis on repertoire designed to meet the needs of performers who are preparing and qualified to embark upon a professional career.

Peabody is committed to providing an exceptional scholarship and financial aid program included many fellowship opportunities for graduate students.
Each year Peabody offers fellowships to a select cohort of admitted DMA students who demonstrate excellence in both academic scholarship and musical performance. The Dean’s DMA fellowships covers tuition and fees plus a stipend for the two required years of full-time residency. All admitted DMA students will be automatically considered for the fellowships.
Each year beginning with fall 2023 enrollment, Peabody will provide grant funding for two students to begin in the MM with a defined and supported pathway for matriculation to the DMA. As part of the larger Johns Hopkins Pathways to PhD initiative, the Pathways to DMA aims to expand opportunities for applicants from backgrounds historically underrepresented in the DMA. All applicants for the Master of Music are encouraged to consider indicating their interest in the application for the Pathways program.
The Peabody Conservatory’s new Graduate Jazz fellowships will cover full tuition plus a stipend for MM or GPD students in the Jazz program. Beginning with fall 2023 enrollment, fellowships will be granted to up to three students per year. No separate application is necessary and all applicants to the Graduate Jazz program will be considered.
