For string players in grades 5-12
Application Deadline: Wednesday, May 1, 2024
Peabody Chamber Week invites enthusiastic string players in grades 5-12 to join an intensive one-week chamber music experience. This immersive program is designed to introduce young musicians to the art of chamber music and foster collaboration, creativity, and musical excellence. Peabody Chamber Week also offers a variety of daily enrichment classes to train well-rounded musicians in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
Guided by renowned Peabody faculty members and guest artists, participants will be placed in a trio, quartet, or quintet, and receive personalized coaching to focus on musicianship, effective rehearsal techniques, and artistic development. All the ensembles will have several opportunities to practice performing throughout the week and will receive regular feedback from their coach and other faculty members.
Students also participate in one of two string orchestras where they will work on larger ensemble skills and collaboration. All chamber groups and orchestras perform at the culminating concert in a beautiful hall at Peabody.
2024 Tuition: $640.00
You are not required to memorize or have piano accompaniment. We expect returning students to audition. Note that Peabody Performance Academy and PCVP students need not audition, but should apply by the deadline.
