Summer Offerings

During the summer months, the Strings Department offers weekly lessons and classes as well as week-long daily intensives.

Once you're ready to sign up for classes and/or individual instruction, please visit our registration page.

Lessons and Introductory Classes

Individual violin, viola, cello, and double bass instruction is available to children and adults of all experience levels—from beginners through the most advanced levels of study. Lessons are available in person and online, depending on the faculty schedules.

Young People's String Program group classes are not held in the summer.

Students beginning string instruction over the summer are encouraged to enroll in our small group classes Introduction to Violin (ages 5-8) and Cello Fun (ages 4-6).

Monday, August 1 to Friday, August 5, 2022 (Howard County- Glenelg Country School)
Monday, August 8 to Friday, August 12, 2022 (Towson Location)
9:00 am- 5:00 pm, Variation I
9:00 am- 3:00 pm, Variation II
For students ages 6-13 currently playing in Suzuki Books 1-5
Provides a week of intensive music and enrichment classes. Group string classes provide the opportunity to refine ensemble skills, perform for others, review and polish known songs, and learn new songs outside of the Suzuki repertoire.

Chamber Week

Monday, August 1 to Friday, August 5, 2022 (Downtown Campus)
9:00 am – 5:00 pm
A one-week intensive chamber music program for string players in grades 5-12 at the Intermediate to Advanced levels.
