All students—undergraduate and graduate, domestic and international—are considered for Peabody Merit Scholarships when they apply for admission. Peabody Merit Scholarships are awarded based on the merit and talent of the student and needs of the school to achieve balance across major areas.
In addition, the Peabody Conservatory offers need-based financial aid through a number of Scholarship Programs, including meeting 100% of need for all eligible domestic undergraduate students with no-loan financial aid packages, and—beginning in fall 2025—providing full-tuition scholarships to all admitted DMA students during the two-year full-time residency. Students must complete the appropriate documentation to be considered for need-based financial aid.

Undergraduate domestic students (U.S. citizens, Permanent Residents of the U.S., and undocumented and DACA students) who wish to apply for need-based institutional financial aid are required to file both the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS Profile.
Graduate domestic students who wish to be considered for federal aid need only submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Domestic DMA students will be required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a supplemental JHU Graduate Financial Aid Application to be eligible for full-tuition DMA scholarship funding.
International students are encouraged to complete the CSS Profile, or for full-tuition DMA scholarship funding, the JHU Graduate Financial Aid Application.
If you are applying to the Double Degree Program, you must apply for financial aid through the Homewood Office of Student Financial Services. You may contact them at 410-516-8028 or online at www.jhu.edu/finaid. Students who enroll in the Double Degree program receive all of their financial aid from the Homewood Financial Aid Office.
Students beginning a Graduate Performance Diploma (GPD) who have completed a previous degree at Peabody are eligible for only one year of scholarship in the GPD.
Given the already significantly reduced cost associated with the 13-month format of the Low Res MM program, Peabody will not offer institutional grants or scholarships for students who enroll in this program. However, federal and private loan options are available to students who qualify.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available at studentaid.gov.
Peabody’s FAFSA school code is E00233.
Complete the FAFSA if you are an undergraduate or graduate domestic student (U.S. citizens, Permanent Residents of the U.S., and undocumented and DACA students) seeking need-based financial aid.
The CSS Profile is available at cssprofile.collegeboard.org.
Peabody’s CSS Profile school code is 5532.
Complete the CSS Profile if you are an undergraduate domestic student (U.S. citizens, Permanent Residents of the U.S., and undocumented and DACA students) or an international student seeking need-based financial aid.
The link to complete the JHU Graduate Financial Aid Application will be provided for eligible students on your application checklist.

Welcome to Peabody’s Net Price Calculator. Award estimates are based on the data inputs from the user. All figures represented in the net price calculator serve as approximations only and should not be considered as guaranteed funding. Estimated aid is based on the assumption that a student meets all eligibility criteria including meeting Peabody’s priority deadlines for the CSS Profile and FAFSA. Actual awarding of financial assistance may differ. Students who expect to enroll in the Peabody/JHU Double Degree Program will not receive financial aid from Peabody and should not use this calculator. Instead please use the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences/Whiting School of Engineering Net Price Calculator.
Our Financial Aid advisors are here to guide you through the process from beginning to end. We can answer questions, provide assistance with your application, and walk you through the types of financial aid available. Please find our contact information on the right-hand side of this page.
Peabody gives careful consideration to financial aid packages for admitted students based on the strength of the application, the audition, the interview, and the unmet need presented on the student’s FAFSA/CSS Profile. If there are additional circumstances that you would like Peabody to consider due to affordability concerns, contact the Financial Aid Office for more information. Additionally, students can review the Request for Aid Reconsideration list of most common circumstances and recommended supporting documentation.
