Pre-screening

There is no pre-screening requirement for Tuba.

Undergraduate (BM)

• One lyrical etude (Bordogni – Encore Music or Robert King/Leduc edition)
• One technical etude (for example – Tyrell, Blazhevich, Day, Grigoriev, Fink, Kopprasch)
• One solo piece, or 1-2 movements of a concerto/sonata of applicant’s choice
• One orchestral or band excerpt of choice
• Applicants may be asked to play major scales 2 octaves

Graduate (MM, GPD, DMA)

• One lyrical etude (Bordogni – Encore Music or Robert King/Leduc edition)
• One Low Etude by Snedecor
• One technical etude demonstrating advanced technique
• One complete concerto/sonata
• One solo unaccompanied piece of choice or another solo piece (not concerto/sonata)
• 2-3 orchestral or band excerpts chosen by applicant

Artist Diploma

AD applicants must prepare a program of no less than 70 minutes duration, representing at least three style periods and including at least two large-scale works.
