The Peabody Tuba Studio is focused on excellence in all that we do.

This unique approach is designed to maximize each student’s fullest potential, to motivate students to explore unpaved creative avenues while respecting and building on traditional practices. Here at Peabody, we take pride in fostering thinking and feeling musicians that will be paramount citizens and leaders in our field of study and beyond!

The Tuba Studio aspires to achieve the highest level of discipline, musicality, endurance and performance standards. Studying at Peabody will help each student reach the goal of creating true artistic and practical skills to be ready to engage in all aspects of tuba performance from solo work, chamber music, orchestral performance, band performance and inventive collaborative genres.

The students in the Tuba Studio receive 14 hours of private lesson instruction and 14 hours of studio class participation per semester. Each student has the opportunity to work with other brass students in a small chamber music ensemble, the large brass ensemble, and regular performance opportunities in Peabody’s larger ensembles. Several off-campus performance opportunities are also available in the Baltimore Metropolitan area.
