The harp is an instrument that can be studied from as early as age five through adulthood. At this time, beginning through advance levels of instruction are available at the downtown Baltimore, Towson and Annapolis campuses. Private lessons are available for students of any experience level or background, from complete beginners through advanced levels of study. Harp Ensemble is offered to students age 13 and up. A limited number of rental instruments are available for home use.
Our Preparatory harp students are winners of numerous competitions and are active members of many orchestras including the Peabody Youth Orchestra, Johns Hopkins Symphony Orchestra, Annapolis Youth Orchestra, Annapolis Shakespeare Company and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra through their “Side by Side” project.
In addition to individual instruction and Harp Ensemble group class for students, each year our Preparatory Harp Department presents guest artists in a variety of master classes, ensembles and special events.
Peabody Preparatory harp faculty are very active performing artists and presenters of many master classes around the country. We create a supportive learning environment that provides a unique setting for all our students and work on a very high level of professionalism.
