Are you a professional performer, music teacher, or arts administrator seeking to expand your career and explore the transformative power of music in healthcare? This intensive, week-long, in-person course offers a unique opportunity to develop the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to effectively integrate music into hospital settings.

Led by Sarah Hoover, with insights from guest experts including musicians, music therapists, arts in health practitioners, hospital staff, and patients, this program provides a comprehensive overview of music’s role in healing, focusing on developing musical practices with the aim of creative engagement rather than therapeutic outcomes. Instruction will take place at both the Peabody Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital, offering valuable real-world context.

NEW! Scholarships of up to $1000 each are available to independent musicians who need financial assistance to attend this course. These scholarship funds have been earmarked for talented independent musicians residing in Maryland, and preference will be given to these applicants.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and applicants can expect a response within one week of submission. Please note that scholarship availability is limited, and the application form will be closed once all funds have been awarded.
