Bruno Cardenas is an Associate Director in Acoustics at Charcoalblue’s New York studio and an adjunct faculty member at the Peabody Institute. He specializes in the acoustic design of spaces for performance and assembly, including drama theatres, music performance halls, event spaces, outdoor spaces, and found spaces. Cardenas is an expert in the integration of acoustic design with the allied theatrical, architectural, and technical design needs within performance spaces, and he is focused on designing for very low noise mechanical and electrical systems in performance halls. At Peabody, Cardenas brings a perspective directly from the performing arts community, and he instills spirit of exploration and curiosity to his courses and to student endeavors.

Cardenas has a Master of Science in Architectural Sciences with a concentration in acoustics from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with additional coursework at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research. Originally from Peru, Cardenas now resides in New York City and enjoys spending personal time making music.
