Description

Organized in partnership with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Program in the Arts, Humanities, & Health (PAHH), Live@Lunchtime is a concert series of short, informal musical programs for the enjoyment of the hospital community. Live@Lunchtime will comprise a series of three concerts at lunchtime at the Johns Hopkins Hospital featuring Peabody-affiliated musicians (inclusive of students, faculty, staff, and alumni). Ensembles are asked to prepare approximately 45 minutes of music for a 60-minute program (start to finish, inclusive of transitions and any announcements) to be performed in a lobby-type space without formal seating. Programs should be aimed to elevate mood and reduce anxiety for those who visit, work, and are cared for at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Musicians will be expected to program appropriately for this diverse audience and to introduce themselves and their music in a warm and engaging manner. Please note that this opportunity is intended for ensembles (not soloist or solo instrument with piano collaborator), and that only an electronic piano is available in the performance space.

Live@Lunchtime seeks to feature a broad range of genres and musical approaches and encourages applications from:

  • Jazz combos
  • Early music groups
  • String ensembles
  • Percussion ensembles
  • Free improvisors
  • Guitar duos, trios, and/or quartets
  • Vocal/instrumental ensembles
  • others

Musicians receive a payment of $250/person per performance.
