Previewing the work’s April 25 New York premiere at the DiMenna Center, flutist Emi Ferguson and pianist Jacob Rhodebeck perform Composition Professor Michael Hersch’s 29-movement concert-length cycle Scars Plummet to the Corners. Commissioned by the American Modern Opera Company (AMOC), the work was written during the COVID pandemic and has received acclaim for its emotional range.
