Bergamot String Quartet with Zane Forshee

Guitarist Zane Forshee (MM ’01, GPD ’03, DMA ’11, Guitar), the Marc C. von May Distinguished Chair of Professional Studies, and the Bergamot Quartet perform an eclectic program of contemporary music at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center that includes a pair of world premieres. The Bergamot Quartet—Ledah Finck (BM ’16, MM ’18, Violin, MM ’18, Composition); Sarah Thomas (BM ’17, MM ’19 Violin); Amy Huimei Tan (GPD ’20, Viola, MM ’19, Viola); and Irène Han (MM ’18, Cello)—performs Caroline Shaw’s Plan & Elevation and Finck’s The Division of Knowledge, Forshee performs Michael Laurello’s Tell Hope Everything You Hear for prepared steel-string acoustic guitar and stereo playback, and together they debut a new arrangement of Elliot Cole’s Bloom Suite for classical guitar and string quartet and Ronald Pearl’s (MM ’85, Guitar) Music From a Distant Room for electric guitar and string quartet.
