Renovating and repurposing the current housing towers is at the very heart of Peabody’s Campus Transformation initiative. With student housing moved into new, more contemporary space, the towers can be reimagined for:

  • Improving performance, teaching/instructional, and programmatic space.
  • Improving aesthetics, accessibility, and functionality to enhance the campus experience for students, faculty, and staff, and the surrounding communities.
  • Creating a reimagined campus dining experience.

Following a rigorous selection process, the architectural design firm Ennead will lead this exciting project for Peabody. Ennead has substantial experience in performing arts and education-related spaces, and in renovating mid-century buildings, an important fit for the Edward Durrell Stone towers on our campus. In summer 2025, Ennead is leading a comprehensive research and planning process—including gathering input from focus groups representing the Peabody community—to develop the program for these new spaces.
