Early Childhood Dance Program (ages 2-6)
The youngest students are introduced to the joys of dancing in a supportive learning environment while participating in the Caregiver & Me class for entering 2 year olds. This class utilizes kinetic attunement and movement expressivity between an adult caregiver and child through play, song, dance and use of props. Children and caregivers are both encouraged to use dance as a vehicle of communication and expression in this class.
This level is designed to set a strong foundation for more formal dance study by strengthening movement/locomotive skills and flexibility. Both classes encourage that students work collaboratively in a welcoming learning environment to practice rhythmic awareness, social engagement, and self-expression through group improvisation. Students take class independently for 60 minutes and are required to wear a uniform.
This level is designed to approach the basic fundamentals of beginner ballet training (placement, port de bras, footwork, and simple vocabulary) with an emphasis on practicing body alignment and ballet combinations. Both classes operate within an integrative learning environment that utilizes ballet training as a vehicle of imagination, creativity, mindfulness, and self-actualization. Students take class independently for 60 minutes and are required to wear a uniform.
