Preparatory Summer Dance

The Peabody Preparatory's exceptional Summer Dance programs offer a full range of instruction taught by Preparatory Dance's outstanding faculty and notable guest artists. They are designed to accommodate all students ages 3 to adult who wish to continue their dance training with concentrated study during the summer months - from complete beginners to professional-level aspirants.

Summer Dance Intensive

Half-day online training in ballet and other dance forms for students age 7 to 18
for students of all levels
Placement required for students ages 8 and older with previous dance training
Monday, June 29 - Friday, July 24, 2020 (four weeks)
(no classes on Friday, July 3)
Registration now available by the week

Beyond Technique Summer Intensive

In partnership with danah bella, Peabody Conservatory Dance BFA program
For serious intermediate and advanced dance students ages 14-20
Monday, July 27 - Saturday, August 1, 2020
Application and audition required
Peabody's faculty teach classes in ballet, pointe/men's, modern dance, and improvisation; complementary classes in yoga.

Open Program Classes

Evening classes in ballet and contemporary dance for beginning and elementary-level students age 7-12
*NEW* all boys classes ages 9-12
Saturday, June 20 - Saturday, August 1, 2020
(no classes on Saturday, July 4)
Placement required for students age 8 and older with previous dance training

Evening Classes for Adults and Teens

Classes in ballet and contemporary dance
for students age 13 and up
Tuesday, June 23 - Thursday, July 30, 2020
Six-week class session; class cards also available
Placement required for upper-level ballet classes

Young Children's Program Classes

Classes for students age 3-6
Saturday, June 20 - Saturday, August 1, 2020
(no classes on Saturday, July 4)

  • Beginning students ages 4, 5, and 7-adult do not need to take a placement class. 
  • 7 year-olds, including those with up to 5 years of previous training, will enter the beginning level in ballet or contemporary dance.
