Exposure to the arts can empower young hearts and souls to connect with music, movement, and self-expression. The Primary Program is where concentrated classical ballet training at Peabody Preparatory Dance begins. This program includes levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, in which students typically aged seven to twelve acquire the initial layers of knowledge that form the foundation of ballet technique.
At Peabody Dance, the rewards of ballet training are numerous! Highly qualified, experienced teachers will teach students how to follow instructions and gain a sense of discipline through proper dance etiquette. Through carefully guided exercises, dancers can increase coordination, strength, and flexibility. In the Primary Program, we begin student knowledge of French ballet terminology, ballet history, and story ballet repertoire and music. Our hope is for dancers to learn how to take pride in their accomplishments and build confidence to perform in front of an audience, both in studio and on stage.
Students enrolled in the Primary Program are eligible to perform in our end of year story ballet on May 18, 2025.
