Nicholas Pothier is a New Hampshire based pianist, teacher, coach, and music director. Pothier currently serves on the faculties of the International School of Music (MD), Baltimore School of Music, and The Peabody Preparatory. He has recently served on the faculties of Saint Anselm College and Plymouth State University as lecturer in piano and collaborative pianist, respectively, and as music ministry director at St. Christopher’s Episcopal church in Hampstead, NH.
Pothier has taught piano for over 13 years, both in New Hampshire and Maryland. He is a frequent music director and repetiteur in opera and musical theatre productions. As a freelance musician, he frequently plays for choirs, pit orchestras, and symphony orchestras. Some of his favorite performances are as a recitalist, as both collaborative and solo pianist.
Nicholas completed a Master of Music degree in Vocal Accompanying from Peabody Conservatory under Eileen Cornett. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of New Hampshire, studying with Arlene Kies. Beyond life at the piano, Nicholas has worked and performed as a cellist and singer, and with the New Hampshire Master Chorale.
