Call for Applications

Applications are being accepted for the 2018-2019 Walters Art Museum Series. Exploring the intersection of art and music, Peabody students collaborate with Walters Staff members to develop interactive performances that reference the museum’s collection through music.

Events Description

Fridays at noon performances take place in the Walter’s Art Gallery Sculpture Court. Audience for these concerts includes Mount Vernon residents, seniors, families with small children, school tour groups, and regular museum visitors. It is important that Peabody at the Walters programs be interactive, engaging and accessible to a wide range of listeners. Visitors typically discover these concerts upon their visit to the museum. It is not uncommon for visitors to listen to only part of the performance and then continue with their visit.

One hour performances are scheduled for the following dates at 12:00pm:

  • Friday, October 5
  • Friday, November 2
  • Friday, December 7
  • Friday, February 1
  • Friday, March 1
  • Friday, April 5
  • Friday, May 3

*The Peabody ART/SOUND/NOW performance is Thursday, June 27 at 7:00 pm. For this series, performers are encouraged to develop 30-minute programs that invite audience members to explore the galleries rather than remain seated.
