Call for Applications

Applications are being accepted for the 2018-2019 Peabody at the Library Series. In this series, Peabody students program and perform family-friendly, interactive musical programs at Enoch Pratt Library Branches throughout Baltimore City.

Events Description

Selected Soloists, Duos or Trios will create an all-ages musical program and deliver 45-minute performances at various library branches across Baltimore City. It is important that Peabody at the Library programs be interactive, engaging and accessible to a wide range of listeners. Performers will receive a stipend of $175 per performance. Ensemble/soloists will perform among the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, September 29th at 2:00 pm
  • Saturday, October 6th at 3:30 pm
  • Thursday, October 11th at 6:00 pm
  • Thursday, November 8th 6:00 pm
  • Saturday, November 17th at 2:00 pm
  • Thursday, December 6th at 6:00 pm
  • Saturday, December 8th at 2:00 pm
  • Thursday, February 7th at 6:00 pm
  • Saturday, February 16th at 2:00 pm
  • Thursday, March 7 at 4:30 pm
  • Saturday, March 23 at 2:00 pm
  • Thursday, April 11th at 6:00 pm
  • Saturday, April 13th at 2:00 pm
  • Thursday, May 2nd at 6:00 pm

Eligibility and Requirements

Soloists, Duos and Trios who are in their third and fourth year of undergraduate study and all graduate students may apply. Students who are especially interested in community engagement are encouraged to apply.

Performers are responsible for their own transportation to and from library locations.

Selected soloists/ensembles must be available to participate in one of the following training and orientation sessions:

  • Sunday, September 23rd 12:30 pm-2:30 pm
  • Wednesday, September 26th 12:30 pm-2:30 pm

Application Instructions and Timeline

Complete the online application here. If a group is applying, a lead person must be identified in the application. Application deadline is September 9, 2018. Interviews, if necessary, will be take place on Friday, September 14 and selected performers will be announced on Monday, September 18.

All applications must include a clear plan for audience engagement.
