Description

Peabody at the Library features interactive and engaging programs designed and performed by Peabody students at library branches across Baltimore City. The program is open to soloists, duos, and trios, and offers a $125 stipend to each performer for every concert. Performers are expected to design programs suitable for adults and children alike. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in community engagement meetings and/or coaching sessions as needed 
  • Secure and provide their own instrument, stand, music, and amplification (if necessary) for performances 
  • Arrange and fund their own transportation to and from the venue (personal or public transport, Hopkins shuttle bus, Hop Van, Lyft, etc.) 
  • Arrive 15-30 minutes prior to scheduled performance time for check-in and set up 
  • Deliver a Peabody approved, 45-minute concert program at designated Enoch Pratt Library locations, times and dates 

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Soloists, duos, and trios at all levels of study (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral) are eligible to apply; at this time, the program is not open to dancers. 

Application Instructions and Timeline

  • Applications Open: Monday, April 1, 2024
  • Application Deadline: Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:59pm
  • Apply via SMILE 
  • Applications will be reviewed and follow-up meetings, if necessary, will be scheduled in the month between June-July. Applicants that advance may be asked to provide supplemental information (e.g. proposed repertoire, etc.).
  • Acceptance notifications will be made starting July 1

    • Brief biography describing your instrument(s)/areas of study and any ensembles you perform with
    • Contact information for your studio teacher
    • A proposed program (45 min)
    • A statement about why you are interested in the program
    • A statement about any relevant past experience
    • Links to work samples, if available/relevant
