Vocal ensemble Third Practice—which includes soprano Katelyn Grace Jackson (MM ’19, Historical Performance: Voice), tenor Joshua Bornfield (DMA ’13, Composition; MM ’14, Music Theory Pedagogy), and harpsichordist Paula Maust (MM ’16, DMA ’19, Harpsichord)—performs Bornfield’s new song cycle Frederick Songs (A Year Not Knowing Where) at a free concert Saturday, February 4, at 7:30 pm at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, Mount St. Mary’s University, in Emmitsburg. The program also includes 16th-century Italian madrigals by Barbara Strozzi, Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody, and music by composers Raymond Schroyens and William Hawley.
