Johns Hopkins University Office of International Services is available to help with any questions relating to visas and travel.

Required Documents

Transcripts

  • All applicants are required to submit original transcripts and an official English translation. We will not accept hard copy transcripts during the application process. They must be uploaded to your application.
  • If you are accepted to Peabody, we will ask you to request that your school send a hard copy, final transcript before orientation.
  • Transcripts submitted with your application should include:
    • Degree earned (if graduated)
    • GPA
    • Dates of attendance/graduation and grading scale
    • Notarized English translation

English Proficiency Requirement

International applicants are required to submit verified TOEFL (code number is 5532) or IELTS scores to be considered for admission. We do not accept the Duolingo English Test. We are now accepting the TOEFL iBT Home Edition (policy update as of 10/4/2022) if Covid-19 policies in your home country have prevented you from taking the TOEFL at a test center.

If you have attended a school where English is the primary language for 2+ years, or if you will be graduating from a 2 year program prior to enrolling at Peabody, you are exempt from this requirement.

Score requirements are the same across all degree and diploma programs. Minimum score requirements:

  • TOEFL: 79
  • IELTS: 6.5 (overall band score)

You may self-report your scores directly with your application but must have official exam scores sent to the Peabody Admissions office directly from the testing agency so that they can be verified. Test score submission deadlines:
