Students wishing to complete their degree recital requirement in the fall 2020 semester, will have the option of presenting a virtual, off campus recital, or completing a capstone project. Please see below for a brief outline of the two options.
At this time, Non-Degree Recitals will not be supported by staff.
For students who are interested in a more traditional, live recital format, we encourage students to give a live-streamed recital. These recitals are expected to be completely live, with no pre-recorded content (except for possible accompanist tracks).
Students will be paired with a recording arts students that will assist with the details of streaming and recording the recital.
For students who wish to experiment beyond the live performance model, the capstone project will be a great fit. The capstone project offers flexibility for students wishing to explore new ideas and ways of presenting a virtual performance. These projects will require a written proposal to be approved by faculty and staff at least one month prior to the final presentation.
Staff support for capstone projects will be evaluated based on the students proposal and mutually agreed upon between faculty, staff and the student.
