Lessons and Introductory Classes
Individual violin, viola, cello, and double bass instruction is available to children and adults of all experience levels—from beginners through the most advanced levels of study. Lessons are scheduled at our Downtown and Towson locations.
Young People's String Program group classes are not held during the summer semester and resume in the fall.
Students beginning string instruction over the summer are encouraged to enroll in our small group classes Introduction to Violin and Introduction to Cello. We do not offer private violin lessons for beginners ages 5-8 over the summer.
Allegro Strings
Allegro Strings is a week of intensive music and enrichment classes for ages 6 -13 years old. Refine ensemble skills, perform for others, review and polish past pieces, and learn new songs outside of the Suzuki repertoire. Enrichment classes include dance, art, and world instruments and are designed to enhance the creative spirit of the program. Hands on rhythm training provided in a bucket band class, which further enhances ensemble skills.
Chamber Week
Peabody Chamber Week is a one-week intensive chamber music program for string players in middle and high school at the Intermediate to Advanced levels. Advanced chamber groups rehearse four hours per day and have one hour of orchestra. Intermediate groups have two hours each of chamber music and orchestra.
