Peabody Ceremony

The 2018 Peabody Commencement ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23 at 10:00 am in the Miriam A. Friedberg Concert Hall. Due to the limited seating available, graduates must request tickets in advance for all guest(s). Following the ceremony, graduates and their guests are invited to a light reception in the Peabody Plaza.

The commencement ceremony will be livestreamed through Peabody’s UStream site for anyone who is not able to attend.

University-wide Commencement Ceremony: Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 1:30pm at the Royal Farms Arena

Peabody Graduation Rehearsal: Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10:00 am in Griswold Hall (mandatory for all who will walk in the Peabody commencement ceremony)

Ticket and Regalia Distribution: Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 11am-2 pm in the Unger Lounge

Peabody Graduation Fair: Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 11am – 2pm in the Unger Lounge


All students who wish to participate in the commencement ceremony are required to wear the appropriate regalia. The link for regalia orders will be posted on the Peabody graduation web page in early January. For those students who plan to borrow or purchase regalia from a past graduate, please know that the regalia design changed last year, and only regalia from the 2017 Peabody commencement ceremony will be allowed. These gowns are black with gold piping down the front for AD, BM, GPD, MA, MM and PC degree candidates. Additionally, the sleeves of graduate degree robes differ from those on the robes for undergraduate degree candidates.

Each graduating student is guaranteed two tickets to the Peabody Commencement Ceremony in Friedberg Hall. If more tickets are desired, students may request placement on the waitlist for up to four additional tickets. Waitlist tickets are not guaranteed, and these tickets will most likely be assigned to seats in the nearby overflow halls where the live ceremony will be projected on a screen. Only students who walk in the ceremony will be granted tickets. The ceremony will also be broadcast live on the Peabody web site.

Johns Hopkins University Commencement Ceremony

Peabody graduates have the opportunity to participate in the Johns Hopkins University wide ceremony. The university ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 1:30 pm at the Royal Farms Arena. Tickets are not required for this event. Please know that only our Bachelor’s and Doctoral candidates will be called to cross the stage at this ceremony.
