Libby Bellamy is on the faculty of the Peabody Preparatory, where she teaches violin in the Young People’s String Program (YPSP) and directs the Teen String Club. A graduate of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and the University of Arizona School of Music, she has studied with James Buswell, Gregory Fulkerson, Theodora McMillan, Blair Milton and Jacques Israelievitch. Before coming to Peabody in 1989, Bellamy taught violin at the Lawrence University Academy of Music.

Bellamy conducts string workshops across the United States and is the author ofย First Scale Book for Violin. Her students include international and national competition winners, music educators, chamber musicians and touring folk musicians.

A founding member of the Baltimore-based Alexandrian Trio, Bellamy has also performed with the Bach Ensemble of Baltimore, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, the Arizona Opera Company and with music festivals in Rome, Jackson Hole, Banff, Sarasota and Blue Hill, Maine.
