Important Information

Directions and Parking

Visitors may only gain access through the parking garage or through the main entrance located on Mt. Vernon Place. If you have mobility restrictions, please contact us at [email protected] to assist with parking and building access. Limited street parking is also available with a 2 hour limit. Further information can be found here, including a map of all available parking garages.

Audition Check-in

Once you arrive at Peabody you will need to check-in. Staff will be located in the Conservatory’s Arcade (sort of Peabody’s lobby) to assist visitors, check them in, and hand out important information about the day. Please plan to arrive about two hours prior to your first scheduled audition or interview time.

Practice Rooms and Virtual Interview Spaces

Each performer will have a timeframe for priority practice space use, typically the 45 minutes preceding the audition start time. Practice rooms are located throughout campus. Staff will be available to direct visitors to an available and appropriate room. Space will be available on a first-come first-served basis for students who need to attend virtual interviews.

Tours

Guided tours of the Peabody Campus will be conducted by Admissions Student Staff throughout the day, originating in the Conservatory Arcade. This is a great way to learn more about the campus! Please register in advance here: Audition Week Peabody Campus Tours.

The Recording Arts department is offering studio tours each half hour between 1-5pm, starting in the Leakin Hall basement studio Monday 2/19-Friday 2/23. Applicants are also welcome to audit current student studio time each afternoon. 

As members of the Johns Hopkins University community, Peabody students have access to all the facilities and services located at the main Homewood Campus. In order to learn more about Hopkins, take advantage of the group information sessions offered most weekdays. Please register for Homewood tours at this link.

Peabody Dining Hall

The Dining Hall is located between the two residence towers. The hours of the Dining Hall are:

  • Breakfast – 7:00am-9:30am
  • Lunch – 11:00am-2:30pm
  • Dinner – 5:00pm-9:00pm

Maestro’s Café

Get your caffeine buzz while enjoying the wireless internet access in our comfy café located across from Peabody on Centre Street. Indulge in your favorite coffee and specialty drinks, premium baked goods, daily soup specials, and fresh Grab ’n Go salads & sandwiches. Maestro’s is open Monday through Friday 8:00am-6:00pm.

Shuttle Bus

Free shuttle bus service is available between the Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus, the Amtrak train station, the Peabody Campus, and Hopkins Medical Institutions. The shuttle bus runs on a half hourly basis. Buses run more frequently during rush hours. You may see the schedule online at this link.
