The DMA program in Piano at the Peabody Conservatory is a highly-competitive program and students accepted into it will require not only a high-degree of performance ability but also the appropriate academic background to pursue doctoral-level academic studies. The DMA Piano audition/interview process at Peabody is a follows:

  • All selections should be performed from memory
  • Pre-screening is done by the full piano faculty
  • Live auditions are scheduled for those who have passed the pre-screening round
  • Candidates still being considered for the DMA program after their live audition at Peabody will receive an email invitation from the office of the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs the day after the live auditions to take the DMA interview
  • Students who do not pass the DMA live audition will also receive an email after the live auditions and may be invited to join a different degree program but will not be required to to attend a DMA interview

Students accepted into the DMA Piano program will receive notification no later than April 1st.
